Utiligroup announces agreement with Energetix
2nd April 2012
Energetix has acquired a pre-accredited electricity supply licence which will enable them to trade electricity in the UK and has signed a software licence agreement for the provision of energy data management software with Utilisoft, the subsidiary of Utiligroup which is owned by Bglobal.
The acquisition of the electricity supply licence is a result of the purchase of the entire issued share capital of Circuit Energy Supply Limited from Utiligroup. The acquisition and installation of the software is the first step in a plan to create a dual fuel energy business. Energetix will seek to acquire an additional licence to supply gas.
Tim Jackson-Smith, CEO of Bglobal, said: “We are very pleased to be working on this exciting project to bring another company into the energy supply market. Utiligroup has seen growing interest from a number of domestic and SME focused businesses looking to become energy suppliers who want to use our ‘Supplier in a Box’ ™ solution.”
Tony Stiff, commercial director of Energetix, said: “We are very pleased to achieve this important milestone and are on track for delivery of an energy supply business in the fourth quarter of this year as planned. Acquiring the ‘Supplier in a Box’™ from Utiligroup has accelerated the speed with which we are able to enter the market.”
