Utiligroup is looking for a Network Infrastructure Team Lead, who will lead a team of network engineers with a strong focus on delivering client solutions. The role will cover designing LAN/WAN solutions, implementation of new technologies, mentoring team members, effective escalation of challenges, documenting best practices, and managing the team ticket queues. The Network Infrastructure Team Lead requires a positive attitude, leadership experience, a sense of task ownership, work to timescales, and provide effective root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of network analysts, supporting a wide range of services
  • Advanced knowledge in Network Management, Network Design, Configuration and, Implementation
  • Manage, configure and design Cisco ASA firewalls including Firepower IPS modules and Firepower Management Centre policies.
  • Manage, configure and design Cisco switch & router installations
  • Manage, configure and design Cisco Meraki wireless installations
  • Manage, configure and design Cisco ISE installations
  • Manage, configure and design F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers
  • Manage the relationship with our Managed WAN providers
  • Insure tickets are addressed and closed within SLA requirements
  • Escalate technical issues across department teams to ensure complex challenges are addressed by the appropriate resource in a timely manner
  • Act as the escalation point for all network technologies and other security protocols.
  • Manage systems 100% uptime for the network infrastructure
  • Perform performance evaluations to ensure the best level of service is being provided to our clients
  • Actively seek out opportunities to improve and optimise the Utiligroups network infrastructure
  • Create and maintain network related documentation, operational policies, IT policies, as needed
  • Work closely with our technology partners to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
  • Conduct full stack diagnostics when necessary, to help determine the root cause of problems
  • Work with customers/users to identify service improvements.
  • The role is an exciting mix of BAU and Project work where you will have a real impact on the future of the companies networking estate.
  • Be an innovator, looking at improvements which can be implemented through process changes or the introduction of new technologies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the group for network related queries including but not limited to technical design, best practices and deployment methodologies

About You

  • Strong troubleshooting and network diagnostic skills
  • Extensive experience with a wide spectrum of vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, FortiGate, Checkpoint, etc.
  • Routing and Switches experience (CISCO ASR\ISR & Catalyst switches)
  • Hands on experience of configuration and implementation of F5 Load balancer (BIGIP – LTM)
  • Experience of Cisco ISE administration and implementation
  • Strong troubleshooting and network diagnostic skills
  • Experience utilising cloud and virtualisation technologies such as AWS and Vmware NSX
  • Strong technical background: Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF), Switching Technologies (STP, Dot1Q, QinQ, EtherChannel), VPNs (IKE, IPSEC, VTI) and IPv6.
  • Strong understanding of the technologies and challenges in data centre environments (VLAN’s, HSRP, VRRP)
  • Strong understanding of security appliances (Cisco ASA, Firepower, FMC, Dark Trace).
  • Network Automation/Programming using Python and/or other scripting languages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fast moving environment
  • You hold a relevant professional qualification such as CCNP
  • Advanced Cisco qualification in one or more of the following: Cloud, Collaboration, Security, Switches & Routing (required)
  • Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate
  • Degree in Computer/IT related discipline
